Design walls to move,
not to demolish.
Helmzco installs GreenZip Tape™ — self-adhering glass-mesh drywall tape that lets finished partitions un-zip and reconfigure. Built for architects and owner-developers: less demolition, more adaptable space, and a real depreciation upside.
How it works
A finished wall that un-zips.
GreenZip Tape™ is a self-adhering, two-inch glass-mesh drywall joint tape applied at partition joints. Because the joint stays accessible, drywall, studs, and head-tracks can be lifted out intact — then reused or relocated — instead of demolished.
For qualifying non-load-bearing partitions, that turns fixed construction into a demountable, adaptable system your clients can reconfigure as their space changes.
- Standard installation — applied like conventional mesh joint tape.
- Clean separation — partitions come apart at the joint, without wrecking the assembly.
- Specified in Division 09 — folds into your gypsum-board detailing.
Awards & recognition
Recognized where it counts.
GreenZip's demountable partition system has been honored by the industry's leading sustainability and design programs.

The idea
Remove. Reuse. Relocate.
One detail changes what happens at the end of a wall's life — and every time the floor plan changes after that.
Un-zip, don't demolish
Open the joint and lift out drywall, studs, and head-tracks intact — no sledgehammers, no dumpster.
Put materials back to work
The same components go back into service instead of becoming construction waste.
Adapt the floor plan
Reconfigure offices, suites, and labs as needs change — the building keeps up with the tenant.
Who it's for
One system. Two wins.
GreenZip works for the people who design the space — and the people who own it.
Design for change — and for LEED.
- Installs like standard mesh joint tape — detailed in your Division 09 spec.
- A real sustainability story — reuse over demolition, contributes toward LEED.
- Supports the AIA Materials Pledge — healthier, lower-emitting materials.
- Free AIA-registered lunch-and-learn for your team.
Adaptable space that pays you back.
- Reconfigure suites for new tenants without gut demolition.
- Lower long-term capex on tenant churn and fit-outs.
- Demountable non-load-bearing partitions can qualify as 5-year property — real first-year depreciation upside (your advisor confirms).
- A greener building story for tenants and stakeholders.
By the numbers
Why owners pay attention.
Depreciation and bonus treatment depend on your project and its dates — your tax advisor confirms what applies.
The benefits
The upside is built in.
Demountable walls change a building's story — from the first drawing to the day the tenant changes.
Less demolition waste
Reusing partitions keeps material out of the landfill — construction and demolition debris is more than double the volume of everyday municipal trash each year.
Can contribute toward LEED
Demountable, reusable wall systems can contribute toward credits in Materials & Resources and design-for-flexibility. Your LEED consultant confirms the credits that apply.
Design for change
Adaptable partitions let a building evolve — new tenants, new layouts, new uses — without a gut renovation each time.
Healthier material choices
Supports the AIA Materials Pledge goals — transparency, life-cycle impact, and healthier, lower-emitting material selection.
Fits your spec
Installed like conventional glass-mesh joint tape and detailed in your Division 09 gypsum-board section — no exotic assembly.
We support the whole project
Helmzco coordinates specification, installation guidance, and documentation so the design intent survives to the field.
Where it works
Properties that benefit from GreenZip.
Applicable across new construction and select renovations — anywhere non-load-bearing drywall assemblies are specified.

…and more — retail, education, government, and mixed-use projects alike.
What clients say
From the field, not the brochure.
Owners, developers, and architects on installing and specifying GreenZip.
ExcitedThe installation of GreenZip Tape during construction of the Fairfield Inn in Los Lunas, NM was straightforward and no more difficult than applying standard drywall tape. I'm especially excited about the significant deductions it will provide for the project.

Easy to useWe have been recommending this innovative partition system on all our office, hotel, and multi-family projects, where it's a home run for us and our clients.
Rick Van DiepenManaging Partner — GRNVision (AIA, NCARB, LEED)
Award-winningIt's hard to get simpler in conception and execution than Green Zip. The product is a substitute for the joint-compound tape that has been used between gypsum board panels since the introduction of prefabricated plasterboard in the early 1930s. The product impressed all three jurors.

Worth mentioning to owners
A sustainability choice that can also pay back.
Because qualifying non-load-bearing partitions are demountable, they may be eligible for accelerated depreciation through an engineering-based cost segregation study. It's a benefit worth flagging to building owners — their tax advisor confirms the treatment for their project.
